🔄 What is Timesheet Hour Rounding?

With hour rounding, you can choose to:

  • ✅ Round all hours to a fixed duration regardless of actual clock-out time

  • ✅ Round hours only if clock-out falls within a specified time window

This rounding logic is applied during the approval of timesheets and supports multiple approval methods.

🛠 Where Can I Use Hour Rounding?

You can apply hour rounding from any of the following views:

Approval Type

How to Access

Day-Level

Click the 3-dot menu next to the day → Approve

Week-Level

Select a worker row or multiple rows → Click Approve

Bulk Approval

Select multiple rows + dates → Click Approve

✳️ Option 1: Round-Off All Timesheet Hours

Use this option if you want to standardize all hours to a fixed duration.

  1. Select Round-off all timesheet hours

  2. Choose To from the dropdown

  3. Enter the time value in hh:mm format (e.g., 08:00)

🔹 This applies the set time to all selected shifts, regardless of actual hours worked.

✳️ Option 2: Round-Off Between Time Window

Use this option if you want to apply rounding only when the actual clock-out falls within a defined window.

  1. Select Round-off all timesheet hours

  2. Choose Between from the dropdown

  3. Enter:

    • Start time of the window

    • End time of the window

    • Rounded time (hh:mm) to apply if within that window

🔹 For example:
Between 03:50 PM – 04:10 PM → Round to 08:00
This means anyone clocking out within that range will have their time rounded to 8 hours.

⚠️ Final Confirmation Required

Before your changes are applied, a confirmation screen will prompt you to type “Yes”. This ensures rounding and approval are intentional and irreversible.

💡 Real-World Example

Let’s say your shift is from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM.

  • If an employee clocks out at 03:55 PM or 04:05 PM, and you’ve set a rounding rule:

    • Between 15:50 – 16:10 → Round to 08:00

  • Their total hours will be rounded up to a full 8 hours, streamlining payroll accuracy.

✅ Final Step: Submit

Once you configure rounding and confirm the approval, click Submit. The system will recalculate regular and overtime hours (if applicable) and apply the new values.
