πŸ‘₯ Who Can Access This

Available to all staffing company users β€” including coordinators, recruiters, account managers, and back office staff.

❌ Not available to client portal users β€” this is a staffing company-side setting only.

πŸ“Œ Where to Find It

Go to any Job Order β†’ click the three-dot menu (β‹―) β†’ select Edit Mobile Geo Fencing.

Available from:

  • Job Order Board

  • All JEM (Jobs & Employment Management) tabs

βš™οΈ How to Enable Geo-Fencing

  1. Open the Edit Mobile Geo Fencing modal from any job order.

  2. Check Enable Geo Fencing to turn it on (default is OFF).

  3. Set the Radius in meters β€” the permitted distance from the job location within which workers can clock in/out.

    • Minimum: 1 meter

    • Maximum: 50,000 meters

  4. Click Save.

πŸ’‘ The radius field only appears once geo-fencing is enabled.

🚦 How It Works for Workers

Once enabled on a job order:

  • 🟒 Within radius β€” worker can clock in/out and record paid/unpaid breaks via mobile app

  • πŸ”΄ Outside radius β€” clock-in/out and record paid/unpaid breaks are blocked with an out-of-range message

  • πŸ“ GPS off β€” worker is prompted to turn on location services

  • ⚠️ No job location set β€” geo-fencing validation is skipped and clock-in is allowed

πŸ“’ Message Workers May See

If geo-fencing is enabled and a worker tries to clock in from a web browser instead of the mobile app, they will see:

"Location-based clock in is enabled for this job. Please download and use the Jombone app to clock in or out."

This is not an out-of-range error β€” it means location data is not supported on the web. Direct the worker to use the Jombone mobile app with location services turned on.

🧠 Key Things to Remember

  • βœ… Configured per job order β€” each job can have different settings

  • πŸ“ Radius must be between 1 and 50,000 meters

  • πŸ”˜ Default state is OFF β€” must be manually enabled per job order

  • πŸ–₯️ Geo-fencing applies to web and mobile app clock-ins only β€” no impact on J4B iPad time clocks

  • πŸ“‹ Manual timesheet entries made by staffing users are not subject to geo-fencing

πŸ’‘ When to Use It

Best suited for:

  • Warehouse and industrial sites

  • Events and on-site operations

  • Any site where worker location needs to be verified at clock-in

Not needed for:

  • Remote or flexible roles

  • Sites where J4B iPad time clocks are already installed
